As a Career Assistant at the human ecology career center, I guide students through the career development process by offering support in resume, portfolio, and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and navigating career searches. I help with the Career Center's outreach efforts through social media and the website where I create engaging content to inform students about career events, resources, and tips. Additionally, I focus on the branding and UI/UX design of the CEC to ensure that they align with the College of Human Ecology’s Branding created by IDEO.

The CEC recently rebranded its booklets and guides to align with the College of Human Ecology’s official colors–purple and red–ensuring consistency across all college resources. This rebrand was part of the college’s centennial celebration last year. As a Design major and Career Assistant, I helped through the rebranding process by developing concepts for how to visually present information. Alongside fellow Career Assistants, I also helped create a reference handout to guide future updates and maintain visual consistency across materials. You can view the PDF above.

We create guides and booklets that help students navigate all aspects of their career journey from building resumes to exploring fields like dentistry, or getting involved in clubs across Cornell’s campus. Above are mockups of several pieces I helped write and design. We developed templates, mockups, and resources that any Career Assistant can use, regardless of design experience. They are accessible, easy to update, and will continue to support future CAs for years to come. It was exciting to help rebrand the CEC for the College of Human Ecology and to think about branding not just in a corporate context, but within an academic setting as well.
