TEKS

a startup by Jeff Yang designing covers for spike shoes so track and field athletes can safely and conveniently move.

Tools: Fusion, Adobe Photoshop & Lightroom, 3D Printing, User Research, Photography, Squarespace

I worked at TEKS, a startup that created a protective shoe cover for track and field spikes. I helped contribute to the overall aesthetics by creating renderings and assisting with the CMF profiles. In addition to product design, I helped with the branding and graphic design for the start-up. Currently, we are reaching out to manufacturers and testing the product with track athletes to refine the design and ensure performance quality.

MY WORK

While sharp spikes are key to track athletes’ success, it actually turns into a hazard when they are forced to traverse non-track surfaces. The lack of traction makes it difficult to walk. Exposed spikes make it dangerous to transport.
